8 amazing things to do and see in Singapore


Singapore; its fast paced, vibrant and enriched with culture, making it an idyllic destination for anyone. The South East Asian city-state is permeated with sights, attractions, and restaurants retaining it’s sense of cultural heritage whilst at the same time not compromising a modern contemporary style to accommodate a broad range of people. From it’s cuisine to it’s scenic surrounding, you will fall in love with Singapore and it’s amazing attractions and here’s why:




1. If you love food, you’ve come to the right place. Singapore combines a real passion for food with a collective mix of influences making it one of the most diverse places to greet your stomach with. Influences range from Indonesian, Indian, Chinese and Sri Lankan- if you’re one for Asian food you will be far from stuck for choice. Not only is the food intriguing enough in Singapore meals outside the home are commonly eaten in food courts and hawkers as opposed to restaurants. The food courts are cheap and busy, with a buzzing atmosphere. Popular dishes range from Rojak (fried dough sticks seasoned with a combination of peanuts, prawn paste, chilli and and bean sprouts) to Kaya Toast (kaya, eggs, coconut milk and sugar).


2. Cities are great with their buzzing atmosphere and constant happenings, but for a quick escape from the industrial surroundings pay a visit to Singapore Botanic Garden and revel in it’s beauty! It’s the only garden that opens from 5.am to midnight, making its visiting hours incredibly flexible, whether you’re an early riser, or prefer your lie-ins. The National Orchid Garden has an admission fee, however its undeniably worth the mere $5.00 to view the stunning array of orchids on show- the largest collection of orchids in the world!


3. Bike round PulauUbin! There are both easy and more complex biking route to suit everyone, from the tarmac trails to off the road trails. With bikes to rent, it’s easy, stress free and makes the perfect day out. The island is not just easy on the eyes, full of marine and wild life it’s a fascinating place to spend the day!


4. Little India is a neighbourhood bustling with life, a cocophany of markets, shops, restaurants, and people, lots of people. It feeds off such a wild intensity making it a great place to be if you’re keen to be at the heart of the action! As the name suggests it’s an Indian neighborhood where you’ll find such delights as the Deepavali, the Hindu festival of light.

5. Experience an outdoor experience like never before at Sentosa Luge &Skyride. Here you’ll get the chance to navigate down 650 metres of the Jungle trail or go go-karting. With a range of activities for all ages, it’s a trip that will please all members of the family!


6. Fan of golf? Look no further then Urban Fairways! An indoor golf club, Urban Fairways have a café and bistro aswell as advanced golf facilities ranging from Swing Golf simulators to Titleist and Taylor made gold clubs- provided for free!


7. Singapore’s Art Science Museum exhibits the fascinating and the spectacular, all under one roof- and the roof isn’t your ordinary roof. Designed to resemble a lotus flower, it is designed by Moshe Safdie and has attracted tourist Tours Travel since it opened in 2011. With 21 exhibition rooms, there is a wide array of different exhibitions, from the likes of Andy Warhol to Harry Potter!


8. Enter the utopian paradise that is Sands Sky Park and fall in love with the most stunning view of Singapore. The view affords a panoramic shot of the bustling city, and only costs $15 to go up. Perfect place to visit at the end of the day to watch the sun set with a ice cold drink and a camera at the ready. True bliss.
